At the age of twenty two I started a business that has created a common place for local people to meet, interact and inspire one another. I can personally attest to the power of community and art therapy; which promotes the release of stress/negativity while allowing self-expression and creativity.
Over the past eight years, I have already helped well over 200 local people share their talents. This number grows with each passing day. One side of the shop is specifically dedicated to handmade or re-purposed items within the state of Pennsylvania such as: local raw flavored honey, all natural bath and beauty products, jewelry, accessories, home décor and more. Aside from supporting local artisans, the other side of my business offers a large thrift section to keep perfectly usable items out of landfills. Anything donated that I cannot use or has not sold is donated to local charities and non-profits in the area. These include the homeless people of Philadelphia, safe houses for families needing protection from domestic violence, and S.O.S which supports individuals or families and friends of those who are struggling with addiction.
Artique Design’s purpose is to celebrate my community’s uniqueness and support our economy by keeping peoples hard earned money in the United States while protecting the environment. I also offer live music when it’s warm outside and interactive workshops taught by our very own artists year round. These classes include bonsai, group meditation, painting, jewelry making, soap making and more! It’s a great way to pick up a new hobby and make new friends!
If you have been to Artique in the past please remember to leave a review on facebook and share with your friends and family some things you enjoy about the shop. If you haven’t been able to experience Artique yet, we are looking forward to your visit!
